We have had a great start to the year in our class. Our January theme was Play and everyone had a turn at talking about a toy that was special to them.
We had a toy shop role play area for Aistear and learned about toys in the past. We looked at the story of the first teddy bear and also learned about toys around the world. We played games from the past including hopscotch and kick the can.
We were delighted to do a fantastic STEM activity using Bee Bots - we had great fun instructing the robots where to go.
This month we have been learning about Spain - the food, the dancing, the festivals. We planted seeds, learned about how tomato plants grow and created our own Picasso style art. Our role play area was transformed into a noisy restaurant, with some interesting food combinations!
This month we have been focusing on improving our handwriting and also have really enjoyed Literacy Lift Off - everyone has had a boost in their reading skills! Well done and keep it up!
